How much is white glove delivery?
White glove delivery cost starts at $160 by cargo van and $325 by box truck for a local delivery on our 2026 rates. Those starting prices cover one delivery in the local area with the white glove work at the door included. Anything past that, such as a longer run, a second person or a Saturday window, is quoted for the job and shows on the written quote before anything is booked.
- Cargo van for single pieces and small orders: a chair, a mirror, lighting, a side table, framed art. From $160.
- Box truck (20 to 26 ft) for sofas, beds, case goods, multi-piece orders and anything that needs a liftgate. From $325.
The vehicle is the biggest lever. If a piece fits in a cargo van, sending a box truck roughly doubles the starting price for the same delivery. Send sizes and weights with the request so the smallest vehicle that fits is the one quoted.
What does a white glove delivery fee include?
The white glove part of the price covers the work that separates white glove from a standard drop:
- Carry-in through the front door and up stairs or elevators.
- Placement in the room the customer names.
- Unpacking and light assembly: legs, shelves, simple fixtures.
- Packaging removal: cartons, foam and pallets go back on the truck.
- A final check of the piece once it is in position.
Assembly that takes tools and hours on site is quoted for the job. How a delivery runs from booking to sign-off is on the white glove delivery service page.
What is threshold delivery, and how does it change the price?
| Service level | Where it stops | How we price it |
|---|---|---|
| Curbside or threshold | At the curb, or just inside the first door | Quoted as a standard delivery |
| Room of choice | In the named room, still boxed | Quoted as a delivery without the unpacking and assembly |
| White glove | Placed, unpacked, lightly assembled, packaging removed | From $160 by cargo van or $325 by box truck, locally |
Booking room of choice instead of white glove takes the unpacking, assembly and packaging removal off the quote, which suits pieces the customer will unpack themselves.
Worked examples: white glove delivery in Los Angeles
Three typical jobs, from the simplest to a staged project. Each starts from the vehicle’s starting price; what the quote adds is spelled out so you can see where the rest of the price comes from.
- One accent chair, store to a nearby customer. Cargo van, carry-in, placement and packaging removal on a weekday. This is the starting price: from $160.
- Sectional sofa, Valencia store to a downtown Los Angeles loft. Box truck, from $325. The run is about 40 miles, so the quote adds the distance. A sofa that size also needs a second person for the carry, and the loft’s freight elevator may need a reserved slot.
- Designer project: three pieces on 3 pallets, held until the space is ready. Storage and handling for the month start from $147 (3 pallets × $25, plus 6 pallet moves in and out × $12). The Saturday box truck delivery to Long Beach, about 63 miles, starts from $325. The distance and the Saturday window are quoted on top.
The third example shows the full cost of holding pieces until a space is ready, which matters to designers installing a project in stages. Storing items first is covered on the short-term warehouse storage page, and longer holds on pallet storage.
What adds to a white glove delivery price?
The starting price covers a local delivery with the white glove work. These are the things that change it, and each is added only when the job needs it:
- Distance. Longer runs cost more. The quote prices the actual route from pickup to delivery.
- The vehicle. A box truck starts at roughly double a cargo van, so match the vehicle to the load.
- Crew size. Heavy or awkward pieces, such as a sectional, a stone table or a large case good, need a second person.
- Stairs and long carries. Walk-ups, long hallways, a far loading dock or an elevator that has to be reserved all add time on site.
- Assembly. Light assembly is included. Builds that need tools and hours on site are quoted for the job.
- Timing. After-hours (8pm to 8am), weekend and holiday deliveries are priced higher than a weekday window.
- Storage. Holding pieces before delivery is from $25 per pallet per month, plus handling from $12 per pallet in or out.
- The unexpected. A long wait at the door, an attempted delivery when no one is there, or an added stop is quoted when it happens.
A liftgate or a pallet jack is added on box truck jobs that need one. Tolls are passed through at cost, a fuel surcharge may apply, and there is no charge to bring a driver to you, because drivers are based in each area we serve. The Los Angeles courier cost guide shows standard delivery pricing without the white glove service.
What does business-grade white glove service cost?
Providers price business white glove work in three main ways, and each has a catch:
- Per piece or by item size. Simple for one item, expensive for a multi-piece order.
- Per hour for crew and truck. Fair for long installs, but traffic and long carries become your cost.
- Per delivery by distance band or zone. Predictable, as long as the extras are written down.
Ours is per delivery: a starting price by vehicle, with distance and any extras quoted and listed on the written quote, so it can be checked line by line. Retailers and brands with deliveries every week can ask for them to be grouped on a scheduled route; see final mile delivery for how routes work.
Is white glove delivery worth it?
For a retailer or brand, set the difference between a doorstep drop and white glove against the cost of one return, one redelivery or one bad review on a large piece. A heavy item dropped at the door, or put together badly by the customer, tends to cost far more than the white glove work. White glove earns its price on furniture, lighting, art, glass and stone, and anything a customer should not be carrying upstairs. For flat-packed goods a customer expects to assemble, room of choice is often enough.
Who are these white glove rates for?
Businesses: retailers and showrooms, furniture and home brands, interior designers, galleries, and hospitality projects. Retail logistics covers how stores and brands use it. The business is the customer of record and pays for the delivery. We do not handle household moves or residential relocations.
How to get a white glove delivery quote
Send the pickup and delivery addresses, the item list with sizes and weights, whether assembly is needed, access details (stairs, elevator reservations, gate codes, parking) and the delivery window. If the building asks for a certificate of insurance before the crew can use the dock or elevator, say so when you book: certificates can be supplied to buildings on request. Every addition to the starting price is on the written quote before the delivery is booked. Request a white glove quote, or call during business hours with the details.
