What is marketing fulfillment?
Marketing fulfillment services handle the physical side of a campaign: storing printed materials, samples, merchandise and promotional products, building them into kits, and getting them to the people and places they are meant for. The work is ecommerce fulfillment with a different recipient. Instead of shoppers, the boxes go to event attendees, influencers, retail partners, sales teams and press.
Alvy Logistics runs marketing fulfillment from one 58,000 sq ft warehouse in Valencia, in north Los Angeles County, about 40 miles from downtown. Because Alvy also runs local courier delivery, a kit built in the morning can reach a Los Angeles venue the same day.
Who books marketing and merch fulfillment
- Marketing agencies running launches, sampling programs and influencer campaigns for several clients, each with its own inventory and kit specs.
- Entertainment companies sending press kits, premiere and awards-season mailers, cast and crew gifts, and show merch. See entertainment and production logistics.
- Brands with sales kits, retail displays, onboarding boxes and promotional product programs.
Kits that ship to subscribers on a schedule are covered by subscription box fulfillment.
Promotional product fulfillment: storage for print, promo and merch
Promotional inventory is easy to lose track of. It lives in closets, in a rep’s car or at the print shop, and nobody knows how many tote bags are left until the night before an event. Packaging and print, apparel and general merchandise are all goods we store. Items are received against your packing list, counted and stored by SKU, with stock levels in the Logiwa client portal.
Storage is by the pallet from $25 per pallet per month, or dedicated space from $2.50 per sq ft per month for larger programs. Terms are not annual-only, so a seasonal campaign can store for a few months and leave.
Why is event swag kitting so time consuming?
Most marketing fulfillment ends in a kit: an influencer box with product and a personal note, an event bag with a program and a lanyard, a new-hire box with a hoodie and a notebook. Event and PR kits take time because every one has to look the same and every component has to be there. One missing card means reopening a hundred boxes, and a personal note means matching each box to a name.
We build kits to your written spec and the photo of a finished kit you send, count the components before the build starts, and report shortages before they hold up a ship date. You get photos of the first kit to approve before the run. Recurring programs, such as a quarterly ambassador box or a monthly member kit, run as subscription box cycles from the same stock. Kit build labor is quoted per job. See kitting and assembly for what moves the price of a build.
Sample fulfillment: shipping samples and kits to recipients and events
Send a recipient list as a spreadsheet and each kit or sample pack ships as its own order, from $5 per order processing, with status in the client portal. Parcels leave on carrier pickups at our Valencia dock, and recipients outside the US ship by international parcel. Kits bound for a convention or live event venue can travel with the booth or ship ahead of it; advance warehouse deadlines, show labels and move-in windows are covered under trade show logistics.
Event returns matter too. Leftover materials can come back to the warehouse, get counted and go back into stock for the next event, instead of filling someone’s garage.
Courier delivery of kits around Los Angeles
For deliveries in Los Angeles County, Orange County and the Inland Empire, kits can go by same-day courier instead of through a parcel network. That means a delivery window you set and no overnight stop in a sorting hub. Rates start at $45 by car, $80 by cargo van and $200 by box truck for the first 20 miles. After the first 20 miles, mileage can start as low as $1.20 a mile, depending on the vehicle and the route, and it is set on your written quote. A downtown Los Angeles venue is about 40 miles from Valencia by road. Added stops are priced on your quote, so a run of influencer drops across the Westside costs less than booking a separate run for every kit. The Los Angeles courier cost guide explains what sets the price of a run.
Merchandise fulfillment for stores and drops
Merch fulfillment for a band, show, creator or brand store is ecommerce fulfillment with a merch catalog: T-shirts and hoodies in many sizes, posters, and limited drops that can sell through in hours. Merch orders are picked and packed like any other online order. Apparel-heavy catalogs follow the size and color setup in apparel fulfillment. Store and channel integrations run through the Logiwa client portal (Shopify, for example), so merch store orders flow straight to the warehouse; name your platform in your quote request.
What a marketing fulfillment quote needs
- What you need stored: item list, quantities and how it arrives
- Kit specs with a photo, and how many kits per build
- Recipient lists, or event addresses and dates
- Which deliveries are local courier runs in Los Angeles
- How long the program runs
Promotional product fulfillment works best when the printer ships straight to us. Have your vendor send finished goods to Valencia with a packing list, and the first kits can go out as soon as the count is in. Send the details through the quote form or call (661) 344-8766 for a written quote.
