A freight company in Los Angeles that tells you who is hauling
If you are comparing freight companies in Los Angeles, start with who actually moves the load. Most freight shipping companies blur the difference between a carrier and a broker. We keep it plain. ALVY BROS DELIVERS INC, which trades as Alvy Logistics, is an FMCSA-authorized motor carrier (USDOT 3443448, MC-1341979). Our drivers haul local and regional freight around Southern California: pallets, fixtures, parts, trade show and live event freight, and box truck loads. A driver and box truck can also be booked as a dedicated block for a day or set hours.
For lanes we do not run ourselves, such as LTL to Phoenix or a full truckload to Salt Lake City, Accurate Freight Systems LLC, the licensed property broker in our group (MC-572734), arranges the move with an authorized motor carrier, and it has the federally required $75,000 broker security on file. Alvy bought Accurate Freight Systems outright in October 2025, so one group covers everything from a single box on a courier run to a full 53-foot truckload. You can always ask which company is handling your shipment, and in which role; our page on freight brokerage services explains how a brokered load works.
LTL, truckload or a box truck: which one fits your freight?
LTL and FTL shipping cover most freight that leaves Southern California. Inside the region, a box truck is often faster and simpler.
- Box truck for local freight inside Southern California, from a single pallet to a full 20 to 26 ft truck. It goes straight from pickup to delivery, with no terminals in between.
- LTL (less than truckload) for one to about six pallets going further, sharing trailer space with other shippers. See LTL shipping.
- Truckload for loads that fill most of a trailer or should not be rehandled. See truckload shipping.
- Pallets, one or several, across town or out of state. See pallet shipping.
- Expedited when a load cannot wait for a scheduled LTL route. See expedited freight services.
If you are unsure, the LTL vs FTL guide walks through the break-even, and the freight class guide explains how density changes an LTL rate.
Freight delivery that needs a stop first
Because Alvy runs a 58,000 sq ft warehouse in Valencia, on the I-5 north of Los Angeles, freight does not have to go door to door. Inbound containers can be unloaded and broken down, pallets can be held there between legs, and mixed shipments can be cross-docked onto outbound trucks.
What to have ready for a freight quote
Pickup and delivery addresses, the number of pallets or pieces with weights and dimensions, what the freight is, and whether either end needs a liftgate, an appointment or inside delivery. With those, a coordinator can prepare a written quote, and business clients are invoiced. If you searched for freight companies near me from the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Fernando Valley or north Los Angeles County, we are close: freight can be picked up, staged and dispatched from Valencia without a trip into the basin first.
